Friday, January 24 2020, 10am Room 102, Caldwell Hall Flyer (129.41 KB) Chuck Huber Associate Director of Statistical Outreach StataCorp About Dr. Huber: Chuck Huber is Associate Director of Statistical Outreach at StataCorp and Adjunct Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the Texas A&M School of Public Health. In addition to working with Stata's tea m of software developers, he produces instructional videos for the Stata Youtube channel, writes blog entries, develops online NetCourses and gives talks about Stata at conferences and universities. Most of his current work is focused on statistical methods used by behavioral and health scientists. He has published in th areas of neurology, human and animal genetics, alcohol and drug abuse prevention, nutrition and birth defects. Dr. Huber currently teaches introductory biostatistics at Texas A&M where he previously taught categorical data analysis, survey data analysis, and statistical genetics. About the SCC Seminar Series: This series of talks, sponsored by the UGA Statistical Consulting Center, aims to present topics of interest to statisticians and users of statistics related to the practical use of statistics for data analysis. These talks are non-technical and should be accessible and of interest to a mixed audience of non-statisticians who wish to understand and use statistical methods to analyze their data, as well as statisticians, students of statistics, and other flavors of data scientist who are interested in statistical applications. This informal Seminar Series is scheduled at lunchtime; attendees are encouraged to bring a meal and should not hesitate either to crunch loudly on a chip or to interrupt the speaker with a question. Note: SCC Seminars will typically be held from 12:30pm-1:30pm on Tuesdays. The timing of Dr. Huber’s talk is a bit unusual.
